ईसा के पुनर्जन्म का गवाह केवल चरवाहा ही नहीं, महिला भी थी
बेनेडिक्ट-16 और फ्रांसिस के बीच जबर्दस्त फर्क है। बेनेडिक्ट-16 ने जहां धर्मगुरूओं के महिलाओं के प्रति कदाचारी और दुराचारी चेहरे को ढांपने-तोपने की भरसक कोशिश की थी, वहीं फ्रांसिस अब महिलाओं के प्रति समाज और खासकर कैथोलिक समुदाय को नये सिरे से प्रतिष्ठापित करने की कवायद छेड़े हुए हैं। हालांकि खुशखबरी यह है कि पोप की इस कोशिश को व्यापक समर्थन और सम्मान मिल रहा है।
पोप अब महिलाओं के साथ बहनापा जोड़ने की कोशिश में हैं। अपनी ताजा कोशिशों के तहत कैथोलिक इसाई समुदाय के शीर्षस्थ धर्मगुरू पोप फ्रांसिस ने अभी बस कुछ ही दिनों पहले कुछ महिलाओं के पैर धोने का अनुष्ठान किया था। हालांकि यह पोप फ्रांसिस का यह अनुष्ठामन केवल प्रतीकात्मखक था, क्योंकि इसे में केवल चंद उंगलियों तक ही सीमित रखा गया था। लेकिन इसके बावजूद इस कोशिश ने पोप फ्रांसिस को महिलाओं का दिल जीत ही लिया।
सेंट पीटर स्क्वायर पर अपने साप्ताहिक संबोधन में उन्होंने एक बार फिर मसीह के जी उठने के पहले गवाह के रूप में महिलाओं को मान्यता दे दी। रायटर की एक खबर के मुताबिक पोप ने प्रभु को जीवित करने की कोशिश और जीवन हासिल करने के दरवाजे को खोलने की कवायद में महिलाओं के योगदान और भूमिका का जिक्र विस्तार से किया है। पोप का यह बयान खासा महत्वपूर्ण और व्यापक अर्थों में देखा जा रहा है। गौरतलब है कि इस तरह, केवल पुरुषों को नए करार में गवाह के रूप में याद किया जाता रहा है। यहूदी कानून के तहत केवल पुरुषों को ही इस घटना के प्रत्यक्षदर्शी और विश्वसनीय गवाह के तौर पर स्वीकार और समझाया जाता रहा है।
Pope Again Champions Women
Just days after (figuratively) stepping on some toes by (literally) washing some women’s feet, Pope Francis has done the sisterhood another solid: In his weekly address at St. Peter’s Square, he once again recognized women as the first witnesses of Christ’s resurrection and emphasized their “special role in opening doors to the Lord,” Reuters reports. He explained that under Jewish Law of the time, only men were considered credible witnesses; as such, only men were recalled as witnesses in the New Testament.
But the Gospels set the record straight, he explained: “The evangelists simply narrate what happened: the women were the first witnesses. This tells us that God does not choose according to human criteria: the first witnesses of the birth of Jesus are the shepherds, simple and humble people, the first witnesses of the resurrection are women.” A theologian calls his words “very encouraging. … The fact that the Pope acknowledges that the progressive removal of female figures from the tradition of the resurrection … is due to human judgments, distant from those of God … introduces a decidedly new element compared to the previous papacy.”newer
