तारिक लिखते हैं कि:- Mother and daughter in Srinagar reflect a liberal past and an Islamist future. Note how the Mum has no hijab or dupatta on her head while she has wrapped up her daughter in yards of cloth. — in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir.

Brigitte Buchinger-Khan horrible

Saleem Lashari : But the daughter is in tights/jeans . . . .

Bhole Vishwakarma : How sweet the girl will grow up and become mommy Darth Vader

Animesh Roy : can it be because of cold. Its pretty low temperature now.

Eeman Saleem : You forgot to see pants? And she’s got shoes, a sign of wealth.

Eeman Saleem : I see lamp posts. Sirinagar must have light.

Ajoe Sohbain :

Harshit Pant : Nice observation!! i find it in Lucknow, UP a lot these days.

Bhole Vishwakarma : Btw I read in editorial in greater Kashmir that as long as women are young and beautiful they must be in hijab the moment they become mother or get ugly can remove it.

Tarek Fatah : Srinagar is a very wealthy city. The Indian government pours in $2billion a year for J&K’s 12 million people. Compare that to the $2billion the USA pours into Pakistan for its 175 million people.

Omair Anas : I hope you are showcasing this photo with permission of these two women whose privacy is being violated if photo is being made public without permission.

Diane Donlon : Omair so typical playing that victim mentality! If you and your fellows don’t get rid of that stupid nonsense you’re finished.

Ritesh Mahajan : Omair AnasThis photo does not carry the names of these women…….It is nothing personal about them …….it also not at all derogatory ……If photo was taken it appears they are aware of that as both are looking towards camera…….Anyway this photo represents the face of common Kashmiri people…..Likewise all media photos will require prior permission certificate from all those in photographs)………

Ritesh Mahajan : @tarek ” Srinagar is a very wealthy city. The Indian government pours in $2billion a year for J&K’s 12 million people. Compare that to the $2billion the USA pours into Pakistan for its 175 million people.”…………..kya baat hai maan gaye ….very nice fact….

Brigitte Buchinger-Khan : Bhole Vishwakarma, who said, that a woman (mothers) becomes with age ugly, bot not men?

Bhole Vishwakarma : @Brigitte, Of course both age ugly. But in moderate Islam of Kashmir any women beyond 30 or few kids cease to stir loins of men

Brigitte Buchinger-Khan : ahhahah, but I feel NOT ugly and I’m a mother and no more young! ahahha

Harpreet Grover : Tarek it is cold there man….Kids are to be saved from cold….

Omair Anas : @Diane, Ritesh, be little sensible. You must be aware of media and photography ethics. These two women are not part of a media event. You take photo and them write a story of their “being a liberal and Islamist” without having known about them anything. How easy would be for you to call a Hindu woman “Islamists” if she wears Dupatta” and covers her face in summer which is very common in India. It is not kind of writing unseen passages.

Bhole Vishwakarma : @Omar. How intelligent of you to evoke ethics and media…Awwww you know anything on public place is for anyone to see and shoot unless it’s on someone’s private domain.

Omair Anas : My objection is very genuine. As a tourist, you can post a photo, but you post a photo with branding them of two ideological bogies which they are not aware at all. Can you do same thing in Germany. You know as soon as that person will know, they will take on you. Just because these poor fellows are Indians, possibly Muslims, and that too Kashmiris, they cant take an action against you, you are free from ethics.

Mustejab Khan : I can post number of photographs in which mother is in full hijab and daughter is without dopatta. this is rampant in Mumbai. It has nothing to do with ‘Islamist future’. While in pune all most all women and girls (of all religion) cover her and head and faces.

Deepak Kumar : Protection from hooligans!

Waqas Ch : Its there personal matter mr Tarek Fatah it has nothing to do with wt ur tryn to say..dont makeup things urself

Hasnain Akhtar : Tarek Fateh is a mind set trying to please certain segment. Does not know rapist country, where young girls are targeted more even by armed forces. This is without like or dislike to Hijab. it is individual right to decide. He makes no comment on nuns.

Malyaban Bhattacharyya : ^ and what Pakistan another rapist nation who rapes Hindu girls and converts them to muslims at Sindh

Veer Ji Wangoo : Very Well captured Wahabism has driven the youngsters into more extremist forms of Religious showcasing
